Feeling Blue::Happy Fourth

Whoa. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted an outfit. Life has been incredibly busy (in a fantastic way) and I need to be better about posting more regularly. But I digress – what I really wanted to talk about is the holiday!

Can you believe it’s already the Fourth of July?! I remember when I was a kid and I just couldn’t wait for my next birthday. My mom would always tell me to just enjoy the moment because as she explained to me, the older you get, the faster time seems to pass. Words so true, but my stubborn head would have none of it. And like all of her advice, she couldn’t have been more right. But since it is the Fourth this week, I’ll just soothe my times goes too fast woes with pontoon rides, hearty laughter, gin & tonics  and fantastic times with family.

And I have to admit to a total rookie mistake. I didn’t nearly steam the dress enough and it clearly shows in these photos; I’ll have to redo these at some point in the future. So I implore you to please overlook the numerous creases and see the possibility.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday week/weekend!

The details: DVF dress (purchased at my first ever DVF sample sale when I was in NYC last month – I’ll share more of that story in an upcoming post), Alexander McQueen clutch, Kendra Scott earrings, Michele watch, Kate Spade shoes. Bracelets: Ippolita & David Yurman bangle, Nike Fuelband (to satisfy my inner nerd), Cartier Love bangle, Gucci link.

Glittery adornments are amusing (and dare I say it – almost necessary) and it seemed appropriate to name this blog after something a little whimsical. Confetti in her hair made me smile because it brought to mind a person who lives for the moment. And of course, probably accessorized with something sparkly.
